Week 12: A Gravel Situation

Both sets of foundation walls are done, and are filled with gravel. The under slab plumbing is in and we are getting ready to pour the slab this coming week.

You can see all the foundation walls here, the guest wing is in the foreground.


Here in the guest wing is the gravel fill that will be under the slab as well as some of the underslab insulation.


And here in the main wing you can see some of the underslab plumbing work, exposed to await inspection.


And here are the supports upon which the posts will rest for the deck in between the two houses.

Week 10: Concrete Progress, Part Deux

Now the foundation walls of the main house are done, as are the footings of the guest house. You can see the rebar here going up for the walls of the guest house.


Here you can see the foundation footers of the guest house.


And on the main house, you can see the foundation walls of the main house. They are up to the level of the slab all the way around, and in the front of the house (we are looking from the rear here) where it will be below grade.


Here is a large mountain laurel on the site, just starting to bloom.
